About the Conti Building |

The Conti Building is more than just a building, it is a Shelton landmark. Life began in the building in 1889 as a corset factory and then a hosiery mill. In the 1950's and 1960's it was home to BF Goodrich, one of the finest makers of tires and other rubber products at that time. In 1970's, the Conti Family bought the rambling series of connecting buildings and turned it into a place available to area businesses to rent for production and office space and home to the area's very first self storage facility.
Now the 142,000 square foot Conti building is home to artists, distributors, surveyors, tutors, wood workers, retail shops, a gym, a school, a health service office, and Conti Self Storage.
This is our business and we feel very especially proud of our long standing involvement in the Shelton community. We are part of the Connecticut Self Storage Association, the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Shelton Economic Development Corporation.
